The Season of Momentum

Trust the process—growth is happening, even when you can’t see it

This spring, I had been incredibly tuned in to nature. It was hard not to be—spring has a way of capturing our attention. On a morning walk after dropping my son off at school, I walked down the same familiar path I always took… but something felt different.

Just days before, the trees had been bare. And then, suddenly, everything had burst into colour and bloom.

That moment had stopped me in my tracks. It reminded me how much growth happens beneath the surface—quiet, unseen, and powerful—and then one day, everything reveals itself all at once. That was momentum.

And that was exactly the season I found myself in then—a season of momentum.

What Had Been Growing Behind the Scenes

Over the past few months, I had been planting seeds—in relationships, in projects, in purpose-driven partnerships—and I finally started to see them bloom.

  • At Evolving Doors, we had submitted 5 grant proposals and developed a fundraising strategy on behalf of visionary nonprofits, helping them get one step closer to funding their missions.

  • I had also supported an incredible mission-driven organization in launching new programs for charities—tools that made giving easier and donor education more accessible—so they could focus on what they did best: serving their communities.

  • The organizations I worked with were making tangible impact—raising more money, deepening donor relationships, and unlocking resources they had only dreamed about.

  • I had been connecting with faith-based organizations and learning about faith-driven missions, capital campaign projects, and educational experiences that shape communities.

  • I had the opportunity to travel to a new place in Canada—Edmonton—where I encountered wildlife I had never seen before (I could have sworn I saw mini-kangaroos!). It was a reminder of the diversity and beauty that exist all around us, even in unexpected places.

  • I also had meaningful conversations with financial advisors, diving into topics like wealth, generosity, and legacy—important pieces of the puzzle for so many of the leaders and communities I serve.

None of This Happened Overnight

  • It had taken pivots.

  • It had taken systems work.

  • It had taken deep listening, creativity, patience and faith.

So often we want things to happen instantly, but progress is happening even when we can’t see it. Just like spring, breakthroughs happen when the roots have had time to grow strong.

Each experience—each connection and conversation—had deepened my understanding that momentum isn’t just about quick wins. It’s about showing up, nurturing the vision, and trusting the process.
